Flagstone Patio, Brick Inlays & Outdoor Kitchen
A homeowner in Wallingford, PA reached out to us with a patio that had fallen into disrepair. The original brick patio was deteriorating and uneven, and the area was experiencing significant water issues that made the space difficult to use and maintain. The homeowners wanted to rebuild the patio while solving the drainage problems and creating a more inviting space for outdoor living.
Rebuilding the Patio with Flagstone
We began by completely rebuilding the patio using irregular flagstone, which offers durability and a natural, timeless appearance. Flagstone is ideal for patios because it handles weather changes well and creates a beautiful organic layout that fits naturally into the surrounding landscape.
Preserving Character with Reclaimed Brick
Instead of removing the existing brick entirely, we carefully salvaged the homeowner’s antique bricks and incorporated them as decorative inlays throughout the patio. These reclaimed bricks add texture and character while honoring the original materials from the property.
Outdoor Kitchen & Bar for Entertaining
To elevate the space, we also designed and built a custom outdoor kitchen and bar. This addition allows the homeowners to cook, serve drinks, and entertain guests comfortably without needing to move between the house and yard.
Improving Flow Between the Home and Patio
We also made structural adjustments to improve the layout of the space. Our team constructed new steps leading up to the porch and relocated the porch door to maximize the flow between the indoor and outdoor areas. This change created a much more natural transition from the house to the patio.
The Finished Result
The final result is a beautiful and functional outdoor living area that blends natural flagstone, reclaimed brick, and thoughtful design improvements. What was once a failing patio with drainage issues is now a welcoming space designed for relaxing and entertaining in Wallingford, PA.
