Expert Horticulture Services for Landscape Design
Selective Hand Pruning for Overgrown Plants and Landscapes
To help maintain and improve the appearance of your landscaping, we offer selective hand pruning that rejuvenates your overgrown or mature plants and outdoor designs. Our horticulturists begin by selecting the proper season for pruning your specific plants and shrubs. Then we use specific tools to remove limbs, branches, and overgrowth strategically without harming your plants.
This allows for aesthetically-pleasing plant sizes, shapes, and an overall outdoor design you can be proud of.
Removal of Unwanted Trees and Diseased Plants
To keep your yard as healthy as possible, our experts offer an assessment of your trees, shrubs, and other landscaping plants. We will check them for damages and disease, then remove any foliage necessary. We will also remove any unwanted trees from the premises. After removal, we’ll work with you to reinstall plants and trees that best fit the location and overall design of your home landscaping.
Horticulturist for Soil Improvement and Transplanting
At Cider Mills Landscape, our horticulturists know that good soil is the cornerstone of any landscape and garden design. Our experts begin with a cultural survey and full soil analysis of your landscaped areas. During the soil analysis, horticulturists will be able to:
- Determine fertility of the soil, through the detection of major, minor, and secondary nutrients necessary for good quality soil
- Check for common soil contaminants that can hinder plant development and growth
- Assess the expected growth potential of plants
After the analysis, our horticulture specialists will make recommendations to help improve the soil fertility as well as suggest which areas will best accommodate certain plant varieties. If your plants are in soil that is less than ideal for growth, our specialists will hand transplant them to a more appropriate location that will ensure the most growth potential.
If you are looking for landscaping services that will not only look amazing but stay that way through healthy maintenance and expert oversight, then give us a call today!
What Our Clients Say About Us
I highly recommend Cider Mill Landscapes. The entire crew is knowledgable and fantastic. The trees they put in for us were large and very nice. We did a total remodel of our backyard and it looks amazing! They designed our backyard and delivered what they promised.

What a team! The entire crew who cleared invasive vines & installed 4 beautiful trees on our property went up & beyond – working hard for 3 days. We are thrilled with the final design! I love looking out of my windows & seeing the gorgeous, lush row of trees now!
Erin Cech | Google Review
We recently hired Cider Mill Landscapes to have a flagstone patio installed and could not have been happier with the experience. From the initial consultation through the completion of the project, Hillary was great to work with…The results of the patio exceeded our expectations.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Why do I need a landscape designer? Can’t I do this on my own?
In doing this for many years, and living and breathing it every day, there are a lot of things that go into a design. Like every other industry, there are things that an “amateur” or someone that doesn’t design on a daily basis will overlook.
There are intricate details that we know to implement into a design. As well as different aspects of nature or a landscape that we know to factor in that a homeowner may not. Especially with outdoors, there are a lot of things to take into consideration.
- Do you build pergolas, decks, arbors and other outdoor structures?
Absolutely. These structures can be pre-engineered kits that we implement into a clients landscape or a custom-built structure.
- Do you do outdoor kitchens and living spaces?
Absolutely. From design and build from scratch to updating and modifying existing spaces. We consider ourselves specialists in the outdoor living space arena. Regardless of the size of the project, the key to a good job is a well thought out design and plan. We custom design every project.
- Do you work with budgets?
We do work with budgets.
Making sure we design to accommodate our clients is a big part of the process.
- Can I get an estimate over the phone?
In most cases, the answer is no. We need a site visit and accurate measurements.
- Can you perform installations if I already have plans?
Yes, however, we may make suggestions or edits to the plan.
We will not implement another design if we feel like the structural integrity of a project has been compromised or under-engineered. We also will not implement a design that has horticultural or product flaws.
- Are you licensed?
We are a licensed business and a licensed Home Improvement Contractor. We are also BBB accredited
